It's waterproof, shatterproof, NSF approved, and it can be used on thin cuts of meat, fish or poultry. Plus it has a 6-8 second response time, a 2.75" stainless steel stem with a 2.5 mm reduced tip, ABS plastic housing, on/off button, auto-off feature after 10 minutes, and a temperature guide right on the thermometer. Its range goes from: -40 to +450°F/-40 to +230°C. It's great for high heat, has a data-hold feature and the sheath can be used as a handle extension. Comes with one 1.5V Button IEC LR44 Alkaline.
