California's Proposition 65 are state laws which entitle California consumers to special warnings for products that contain chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm, if those products expose consumers to such chemicals above certain threshold levels.
Although Proposition 65 has been a California state law since 1986, recent amendments to Article 6 (Clear And Reasonable Warnings Section) will go into force beginning August 30, 2018. As a result, online shoppers will likely notice more frequent and conspicuous use of the above warning.
